William Jessup University’s Music department will present Celebrate Christmas日本一本道a不卡免费 concerts on Friday, December 7 at 7 p.m., Saturday, December 8 at 3 and 7 p.m. with a final performance on Sunday, December 9 at 3 p.m. The popular event features performances from the growing university’s musical groups including the University Choir and Orchestra, Jessup Concert Choir, Jessup’s Jazz Band and the Crossroads performance small group.
日本一本道a不卡免费Designed to appeal to a wide range of audiences, the program combines both contemporary and classic Christmas music selections. The University Choir and Orchestra is comprised of talented vocalists and musicians. The large-scale group delivers a dynamic and powerful concert experience with a diverse set of offerings including familiar Christmas classics and new sounds as well.
Last October, students had an extraordinary opportunity to record two CD’s at George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch in Marin County, California. “While our musicians were recording music, our cinematography students rolled video and did interviews, our arts management majors worked on tour management, and our commercial music students worked alongside the SkyWalker Sound engineers in the recording of the project,” said Music Chair Tom Ruscica. “It was truly a unique cross-disciplinary approach that proved educational and rewarding for our students.”
During the concert, students will perform selections from one of the recorded CD’s entitled, Sing We Noel. Songs performed from the CD include Jingle Bells and Silent Night. Other Christmas favorites performed during the concert include Mary Did You Know, Go Tell it on the Mountain and White Christmas.
Jessup Concert Choir is a women’s ensemble, featuring 52 students. The group performs locally in churches, and their repertoire includes gospel, worship anthems, spirituals, and classical songs.
The Crossroads performance group is a small ensemble featuring students with the highest level of musicianship. Crossroads performs locally in churches and features student arrangements covering a wide range of genres, including folk, acapella, rock, and contemporary worship.
Students in the music degree program at William Jessup University receive a thorough grounding in both traditional and contemporary theory and practice courses. They develop performance skills and acquire new musical proficiencies appropriate to their chosen career path.
During the fall and spring semesters, the University Choir also tours throughout the Bay Area, Central California and Oregon.
